He died in the middle of touring as well. It will be interesting to see what happened. However, he was a 65 year old "rock" star so I suppose the lifestyle just took it's toll.

I was'nt a fan of his 'torch' singing style but he was definitly a star performer. He seemed to be most popular in UK these days.

    Mike.

Yea one of the best songs he did
(The Man Who Shot) Liberty Valance
was also a great song/ soundtrack

    His tour manager said today

"We don't have a cause of death at the moment but looks like it was a very peaceful passing,"

"He was found fully clothed, on his back, as if he had gone for a lie down. It looks as if there was no pain whatsoever."
He added: "Last night was generally one of the happiest and most exuberant performances we've seen out of him. He was absolutely on top of his game and was really happy with the show."

    My family will miss him
    RIP

He wasn't even known for his most famous song.
He wrote "Hello Mary Lou" for Rick Nelson.
I'm old enough to remember "24 Hours from Tulsa" in 1963 - a scandelous song in those days

I just read the lyrics to that song. They're actually fantastic. Very sad.
