Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

...Outkast is the GOAT group,Nas the GOAT rapper,Ras Kass the GOAT lyricist,RZA 1993-97 the GOAT producer and the GOAT album is Only Built For Cuban Linx.

    Yup.;)

Agreed with ya on Ras Kass, RZA and Only Built for Cuban Linx.

Rakim for GOAT rapper (I think Streets Disciple put the nail in that coffin), and Wu-Tang for GOAT group. But nice picking nonetheless

yeah ras kass is an amazing lyricist, but i think pharoahe monche would give him a good run for his money lyrically!

Would definitely take outkast over wu-tang, they've a much more consistently hot back catalogue, aside from enter the wu, none of their group stuff has been that great. de la soul and a tribe called quest deserve a mention i reckon

Would have to also say that Premier provides some stiff competition in the production department

I'm a massive Primo fan and he never fell off like RZA did but what RZa was Adoing in the mid 90's,making consistently brilliant whole albums, all that had sounds that differed but were always unmistakably RZA. Plus Primo's choice in rappers usually sucked.

Wu-Tang certainly don't deserve the best group accolade. What album did they make as a group that could touch the brilliance of Outkast's first three albums?

Nas' Street Disciple was lyrically and flow wise excellent, although the production was mostly awful.Nas just has a larger and more complete discography and is still relevent today imo.

Are we taking Wu-Tang's solo albums into account, especially given the fact a lot of time are basically group albums considering the number of guest appearances from Wu members on them? I think we should and that would make them the best group.

Hard to argue with RZA. As you said his consistency for a number of years was amazing, especially as it was over whole albums. He's contributed to a handful of the best ever rap albums.

I was talking purely as the Wu-Tang group.Taking in there solo albums into account strikes me as unfair, especially with the likes of Andre not releasing solos yet.As for the amount of guest appearances, most of them were by Cappadona and we all know he sucks. :p As a group they only ever made two good albums, both over rated imo.

I'm currently listening to Sunz of Man Freedom of Speech and seriously people need to get this album.4th Disciple's production is jaw dropping at some points and Hell Razah's delivery and lyrics are damn strong.Black Market Miltias debut was excellent as well.We need to get albums like this retail.

Well, I was thinking along the lines of Wu-Tang the group is what spawned the solo albums. As a group they've contributed a few group albums and a few solo albums. I guess if you restrict it to group albums then Outkast probably contributed more. I still prefer Wu-Tang though!

I'll check out the albums you've mentioned.
