PayPal - holding my personal details?

I am about to leave PayPal forever, however their servers/computers still hold all my personal information incl. bank and credit card details. I wish to have any and all information held by PayPal removed. Can anyone offer advice as to how i would go about this and what rights i have? Thank you.

Some fool could play a chargeback scam, PayPal employees could steal my details, scammers could hack PayPal...anything really.

These observations are based on the fact that ex employee's of PayPal claim that most of their anti fraud resources go into monitoring employee's.
