I thought when I signed up that 5 gig would be more than adequate.
I have a home network with 3 pc's connected and find thaat we use
2/2.5% of our new limit if 10 gig per day.Download a few films and
limit is used up very quickly.Whats your experience been?

Which ISP are you with as 5GB sounds very low.

Currently I might hit 100GB a month....on a BUSINESS DSL line so no CAP.

I'm still using ClearWire as it's all I can get at the moment. Biggest shower of cowboys ever!!
They have a 20 Gb cap, but when I first signed up with them I asked thm specifically if they were strict on this. The sales guy told me they have no ral way of monitoring the monthly cap, and if I went over the cap by 4-5 Gb, then it'd be no big deal.
Last week however, my service was reduced from 200 KB/ps to 2 KB/ps for an entire week. I called them asked what the hell! I was told that I had exceeded my cap by 800 Mb for the previous month, so as a result, my connection was limited for a few days until their software system reset itself. It reset itself yesterday apparently, as my speeds are back to normal. All last week though, I had an unusable connection due to their nw unadvertised bloody cap limit policy!!

STay away from them if you can I say!!

Eircom and if you gotta ask then you cant afford!

Have no choice in chaning as its a shared connection.....pay about €25 a month for it....and get ~300KB/s-400KB/s(shared remember) for most of the day until around 00:00 when I actually get about what the line is capable of.
