Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Roy keane has only played 8 games for cletic (plus on as sub) as stated here.

Does he get a medal if he is (more than likely) out for the rest of the season with a hamstring injury?

In the premership you need 10 appearances dont you?

Celtic midfielder Roy Keane is rated extremely unlikely to earn enough appearances to claim a Scottish Premier League winners’ medal with the club, although Celtic have the option of appealing to the Scottish Premier League if the Cork man comes up short of the necessary tally.

Keane has made just six league appearances since joining the Parkhead club in December – four short of the requisite number needed to qualify for a league medal.

The Cork man is currently sidelined by a hamstring injury picked up last month, and he is said to be at least another fortnight away from a return to first team action.

That means the former Manchester United and Republic of Ireland skipper is unlikely to make enough appearances to land a piece of silverware – but Celtic could appeal to the SPL for a special dispensation.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Premier League said: “If the club wants to apply to provide medals for a player outwith that for special circumstances then they will apply to the SPL.

“The success of that will depend on the case. After the season is finished we will sit down and discuss that case.”

Considering how Keane felt because he didn't play in the CL final, I doubt he'd want Celtic appealing to the SPL. He's not like Martin Keown. ;) At least it'll give him another reason to stay on next season.

Remember the days when the great David Batty wasn't able to pick up a medal for the 1994/95 season, I think a bit of everyone died that day.

He did get a CL medal though, UEFA give a medal to the 25 players registered by the clubs.

I know that. Roy wants to earn medals though and by not playing in the final he didn't feel part of the celebrations even though he got the team there. I could be wrong. I just remember something like that. If that's right though I certainly don't think he'd want Celtic appealing to get Keane a medal.

Keane did feel part of the celebrations in the CL final, he celebrated as much as anyone.

In his autobiography, Keane says he didnt feel part of the CL win because he couldnt play in the final and he just wanted to get off the pitch after the game.

Its all there in his own words.

Does everyone not get one for christmas every year up there?

But seriously, if he was that concerned, injured or not, h ecould just come on in the last minute of each game and stand there till the end. Come to think of it, it probably wouldnt make a difference if hedidthat for the whole of each game.

Keane needs another 4 appearances to get a SPL medal. Celtic however have issued a speical cases application (can't imagine whats in it) to the SPL however to get Keane and Dublin medals even if they don't play enough games.

On the back of todays Metro the same story game up.

Keane has to play 4 of the last 6 games to get over the 25% mark. Dion Dublin is the same boat but he will probably make it as he isnt injuired.

He also said it during his interview on the Dunphy show on TV3. When Dunphy asked him about winning the CL, Keane said that he felt he hadn't won it and that is why he was committed to try and win it the right way.

Just to back up my point about Keane wanting to actually go out and earn medals. This clip is from the "As I see it" DVD:
