...with the loss of 28 jobs.

If you can't beat them, buy them and sack everybody. Greedy scumbags.

Can't say I agree with you there. The 28 staff are to receive €5M after tax between them. That's almost €180K each, into their hands. I don't believe the workers will be complaining too loudly.

damn Henri beat me to it :)

180K - yeah I am sure the staff are just crying into their breakfast this morning

I doubt they'll complain, but that doesn't stop Getty being greedy scumbags for buying a company with the express purpose of killing off competition. They're not big enough?

It called business. If you don't like living in a capitalist society then feel free to call around to mine later and give me all your money and material wealth.

I like capitalist society just fine, thanks. However I'm not a greedy scumbag.

Er, how is the guy who sold his business for €135 million a greedy scumbag? What was he supposed to say to Getty Images? "F**k off, I don't want all that money. Here, f**k it, you can have my company for free!"?!?!?!? Not only that but he's giving each employee nearly €200k after tax as a redundancy package. What a scumbag!

Sorry mate but IMO you couldn't be more wrong. 180k each. Thats unheard of. Fair play to the guy for making a success out of it.

Here's a novel concept, both of you:

Try reading posts before toggling the right-wing righteous indignation switch. Try post #6 for a start.

    Honest to god.

Whats there to read? I don't get your point at all. They are greedy for having good business sense? Exactly who loses out here? Everyones making loads of money. Knee jerk left wing socialist reaction to anyone being successful

So what you seem to be saying is that the guy who sold StockByte is a greedy scumbag for selling his company? Or that Getty Images are greedy scumbags for acquiring a competing company? Or both? Well, welcome to the wonderful of business where these things regularly happen. If you think every successful businessman/company is a greedy scumbag then fair enough but it's a bit of a bitter attitude, don't you think?

Do they not teach you how to read in angry capitalist school these days?

(I own a business therefore I'm a capitalist by definition. I do know how to read, however. Should I try to unteach myself in order to be a proper capitalist like you guys? Is being dumb as a rock a prerequisite these days?)

Right... so you've been called up for unfairly accusing some perfectly harmless albeit successful businessman (or company?) a greedy scumbag and you defend yourself by calling people dumb. Good luck with your business. You'll need it.
