Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

David James has made two amazing saves, but had one howler. His second save fell to Stalteri, who scored. Good game so far.

I was just checking the scores on livescore.com and is states that the Sunderland v Fulham game has been suspended after 14mins, no other details.

    Nothing on BBC sport yet.

Anyone any ideas? Surely not flood lights or weather!

:D ... I saw the BBC live text update at around 3pm and it said

'Sunderland.... kick off in heavy snow at the Stadium of Light'. Thought the abandonment might happen after that.. Was stupid to start it in the first place.

Great goals from Bellamy and Lua Lua (who should get extra marks for his celebration!)

Points dropped for Blackburn, leaving them 4 points behind Spurs and 1 point ahead of Arsenal, who have 2 games in hand over both (against Man United and Portsmouth). Important week coming in the race for 4th...

Stenoslav Todorov is not attractive in any circumstances.

Sorry to ruin your hopes Pepe - but with each game that passes, it really looks more and more certain that Arsenal will get it. Wish it wasn't so - as I love to see variety but - this won't be the case!

    congratulations?

i wasnt aware they awarded places in the league with 5 games still to go...

Blackburn did well today to get a point. I can't see Portsmouth going down. They treated today like a cup final and I'm sure every game will be like that from now on.

Bellamy was superb again. They compared both his goals to something like Henry would score on RTE 2 and I'd have to agree. He's reaching top form and just at the right time. Its a pity that MGP looks to be burnt out after a terrific season.

Rovers are now four points behind Spurs but I've just had a look at the run ins:

    Spurs play:
    Everton (A)
    Man United (H)
    Arsenal (A)
    Bolton (H)
    West Ham (A)

    Blackburn play:
    Liverpool (H)
    Birmingham (A)
    Charlton (A)
    Chelsea (H)
    Man City (H)

From those two, I'd definitely prefer Blackburn's but nothing is set in stone yet. Anything can happen as Birmingham showed by beating Bolton on Tuesday night.

    Arsenal play:
    Man United (A)
    Portsmouth (A)
    West Brom (H)
    Totenham (H)
    Sunderland (A)
    Man City (A)
    Wigan (H)

The easiest run in of the three by far IMO. That said, alot depends on their game against Tottenham and tomorrow evening.

I'm still going for Arsenal to finish fourth and Blackburn and Spurs to battle it out for fifth.

well, i dont see blackburn getting any points out of liverpool or chelsea.
and lets say spurs lose against arsenal and utd, that still leaves you 4 points adrift with 3 games to play. you have to win all of those, and spurs only have to win 1.
however, they arent played yet, so who knows.

and arsenal still have to win those games they have in hand. personally id rather have points in the bank than games in hand. ive seen too many teams drift away at the end of the season.
who knows, bolton sure werent expecting to lose 3 league games on the trot, and i dont think too many of us here predicted it either. arsenal may just lose 4 on the trot, and spurs may lose all last 5 games...

Just in the door from the Lane this afternoon, delighted with the 3 points, and happy with the overall performance.

Tainio in for Davids made a huge difference in the middle, the lad works his socks off every game I see and deserves a place in the starting XI. The back four worked well together, Stalteri was solid at RB after returning, and YP Lee had a fantastic game at LB. Keane was fantastic throughout.

The one problem I had was with the CMs, Carrick had a poor game (again) and Jenas doesn't have the presence or physicallity to impose himself on a game the way Davids did before Xmas. I'd have gone with Lennon on the left, Jenas on the right and Tainio in the centre with Carrick to snuff out Musampa for Citeh (who had loads of possession and space to work with).

As for the run-ins...if Arsenal lose tomorrow the gap is back to 5 points with only 1 game in hand and the game at Highbury (sandwiched between two CL SF ties) becomes crucial. I agree with WWM about Blackburn's chances, I can't see Blackburn get anything from Chelsea or Liverpool (or for that matter more than a point against Brum) though his sums sound a bit off. Single points for Spurs away to Everton, and at home to Utd with the full 3 at home to Bolton should secure us fifth place.

I still think it will be Arsenal, Spurs, Blackburn in that order.

    congratulations?

i wasnt aware they awarded places in the league with 5 games still to go...

You can phrase the games in hand whichever way you wish WWM, it should be fairly easy for Arsenal to achieve fourth now. That Newcastle loss will cost them badly.

    Chelsea

    Whats with that team?

    Cech
Geremi - Gallas - Terry - Del Horno

    Makelele-Essien
    Maniche - Lampard

    Crespo - Drogba

    It's a very weird formation.

    Come on the hammers

    Maniche just got sent off!!!

    1-0 down and a a man down!!!

Harsh red. It's over the ball, but I don't think it's intent. It's gotta be a misjudgement. To me that was like Ronaldo's red card this season, but it wasn't a red.

    Maniche off straight red.

maybe the heading tomorrow will be,

"jose as sick as a parrot, as united move within 4"

its a long way to go though, id still be happy with a draw in this game, but if west ham hold, it would be sensational. a draw in this one and a draw later on im thinking, hopefully bolton will take points next week and we hammer sunderland. go on the hammers

So. A goal behind, down to 10 men and those buggers just wouldn't die. Characteristic of champions, dare I say it... Disappointing from West Ham, but this is what Chelski were like up til a few weeks ago - devastatingly clinical.
