I am loking to buy a used bmw in the Dublin area and need a mechanic to check it out. Any names and numbers? Also what would be a reasonable price for this sevice. On the AA ireland website they charge 320 euro for giving cars the once over which seems like a rip off.

    what part of Dublin?
    what kind of car?

I'll send you a link to a FAQ if you specify the car/year and will try to name a few BMW specialists if you say where abouts?

I use Dalkey Motor Services , who specialise in BMWs. They're not particularly cheap, but Ed is very knowledgable. Despite the name, they're actually near Monkstown. Ph: 01-2852590

Will you post here how you get on? In the market for the same car, and would be interested to know what to look out for.

    Cheers for the info Anan1.

Any good mechanics around west Co. Dublin would be great. Any feedback to what a average price would be for this job?

Also, put a post up here asking any of the lads that use this site, there are plenty of E46 owners in Dublin who will point you in teh right direction and give you a good guide as to what to look for.
