damn ye dont have much time left, was the teacher not to give the class a topic split ye into groups who would gather the info and then all share it and he then would use this info and help us in how to write it up that wat we did?

did mine in 2002 we did ours on the cental business district in our town ie main streets with shops etc ( sorry if that sounds obvious)

anyway pick a couple of areas in town eg one with loads of commercial activity and one which use to be but not now or never was. then do a simple map a draw the number of buildings on both sides of the streets.boxes will do, 2cm in size for each unit an extra or more for units for bigger premises like supermarkets & hotels etc.the use a colour key scheme say blue for commercial, green for flats, white for vacant buildings and yellow for offices orange for pubs/cafe/resturant, black for sites under construction. this maybe obvious from looking outside but if not sure whats contained in an upstairs building go into the shop or office downstairs and ask(be polite, say why ya wanna know etc, hopefully they will be nice and help)

next count how many people drive/walk through that street and shop at different times eg 9am, miday,3pm and 6pm. note differences.

then ask shop keepers questions (again state who ya are etc) like how much is it to rent premises,(you will get different rates for differnet areas of town compare them see where what area is commercially stronger) what days u busy, note how many flats that are around(obviously stay away from asking them questions)

this could be done in a week, write out report do up graphs and stats (ie say 10 premises in a street and you found 2 were pubs, one commercial like general shops, and 7 were offices well that over 50% offices) do seperate stats and map for each street write what ya found then compare and contrast.

best way would be to find a shopping centre and compare it to a quiter aera.

what u will find it that a town/city may have areas where one part say specialises in pubs/cafes, one where all solicitors and acountants are and one where is dead. by looking how how much rent is u may see why business choose a certain area. or if there is a shopping centre or a well known store in a street that attracts a lot of customers then they will want to be next to it. (ya notice in most towns when a shopping centre comes a lot of shops move to be next to it. your people count will prove why.

yes u may look like an idiot standing on a street counting people,if people ask wat ya at just be polite and tell them, they may help or they maybe just noisey. dont be worried bout getting slaged f^$k this is ur lc and this is an easy question if done right WILL get high marks and prob an improved grade.

I did mine on a river but im not to sure what to write for it. For the gad of data(Max of 450 words) my teacher told us that to only use two points of the 4points from hydradic radius they wer Bedload, Velocity, Slope & Wetted Permeter. But I have talked about what I used & what info I got but I only have come up with 150 words(for only 2 points) & finding it hard to say anything else. Am I missing anything?

have written up the title, intro and planning in the pink book. have the rest all typed out on word and it's just a case of finding some free time to write the rest in.

i found it hard to stay UNDER the word count, 1000 words really isnt that much, about 3 pages a4 typed. doesnt have to be in until friday anyway so we've another week.

tbh, i did all my writing in 1 day on ms word so i just need a few hours to do this stupid pink book.

In gad of data. I mostly talked about what I used & wat it was for...didnt want 2 go into much detail about wat I noticed when gad the data because of fear of losin marks. What would i say about wat i noticed that wudnt go into the conclusion. Like wudnt say that i noticed for the bedload that at site 1 the rocks wer sharp & big while at site 8 they wer small & rounded. Wud i say at site 1 it was in a v shaped valley with water falls & jagged rocks?
