Extractor fan on high ceilings??!

We're building a kitchen extension now and the new and improved kitchen will have the ceiling up to the roof as a feature. We are wondering how to put in an extractor fan for the cooker as the ceiling will be high. Ideally we'd like to out hob on the island but due to extractor fan issues we may not ba able too! Any…
