Thanks for that one. I was was trying to double-check where it was. Saves me having to ring people:)

[strike]Btw is that latitude right? There's only 60 minutes in a degree, 60 seconds in a minute. Is that coordinate really in decimal?[/strike]
    It's in decimal.

The webpage Cathal updated was done before the latest round of upgrades. That list just needs 30 places added.

Is there an exchange called Greenoge? It's a townland on the Dublin-Meath border around the N2. Any numbers I've tried in the area belong to either Swords or Ashbourne.

I already posted Castlefinn earlier in the thread but added it to this list to keep the Donegal ones together I have a feeling that there may be a few others, I never saw Castlefinn on any Eircom lists or PR's.

Are there 2 exchanges in Kilkenny city or is that a typo? Kells is also duplicated. Isn't there a summerhill exchange in Meath and also in Dublin? Are there 2 Riverstowns in Ireland?

The Shercock exchange has been enabled for a while but is not mentioned in any list, eircom or otherwise. I haven't found where it is yet within the village. 0429669*** and it's in Co. Cavan. Near enough to the south Monaghan border.

Btw Damien, I did a fair bit of searching for Greenoge in Meath. I think the small townland that it is is either covered by the Swords or Ashbourne exchanges.

There is a Summerhill exchange in Meath, and another in Dublin. I'm off the Summerhill exchange in Meath, and contrary to the Eircom website, it is not broadband enabled - no number in or outside of the village passes the line test. I contacted Eircom to clarify this and was fobbed off by customer care. AFAIK, the Meath Summerhill exchange should not be included on the coverage map.

Is wired for broadband but not everybody in the area can get it due to problems with the lines (too high capcaitance).

Does Eircom define as "DSL ready" as just the number of telephone numbers that are served by a DSL enabled exchange whether the customers serverd by that exchange can in fact recieve the service or not?

Also how about businesses which may have a large number of potential telephone numbers but use a dedicated or seperate data connection. If they are connected to a DSL exchange do they count towards Eircoms wonderfull coverage claims?

I'm a Noob, but I was just trying to think like how a cynical, manipulating marketing guy working for Eircom would try and spin a story to make the thing look good.

Its a classic story of "80% FAT FREE!!!!"..... that would make like the other 20%..... well.... like........ALL FAT I assume.

Eircom will be first against the wall come the revolution.

Dude, they own the wall and will charge you for standing them up against it.

Can we at least charge them for the bullet?

Or just place a spent cartridge against the base of the head and smack it in with a hammer?

Aparently in Nigeria you can be shot and hung :) Maybe when your swinging on the end of the rope you're a more interesting target?

    Even better
Armed robbers are frequently sentenced to be shot and at one time in the northern state of Kaduna, the Military Governor thought that shooting gave the prisoner too quick a death and decided that their agony should be prolonged by ordering the firing squad to aim at the feet and legs and then progressively higher up with each volley until the prisoner died.
Thailand used a single executioner with a one stand mounted machine gun per prisoner, to put murderers and drug traffickers to death

Now thats what we need, a machine gun :)

China has the death penalty for 68 crimes including murder, drug trafficking, rape, re-selling VAT receipts, pimping, habitual theft, stealing or dealing in national treasures or cultural relics, publishing pornography, selling counterfeit money, economic offences such as graft, speculation and profiteering and even killing a panda.

    Can you execute a company?
"Execution is one of the indispensable means of education," China's paramount leader, Deng Xiaoping, once said

    It certainly stops recidivism!
