Anyone know what this is for ? I just changed the stereo in the car and the old one had this going into its aerial socket but cannot figure out what its purpose was? Anyone know what this is for ?

The old unit was a Blaupunkt CD51 and was fitted into a 02 Skoda Fabia.

AFAIK its a booster. If you remove it the reception is pretty poor or even non-existant. LIGHTNING is correct - all cars from the VW Group use these.
