Change cantilevers to vee brakes?

Hi,

Just wondering was it possible to change a cantilever braking system to vee brakes on a MTB? I don't mind if levers etc need to be changed. Small price to pay for messy adjustments on *%6~?& cantilevers every few weeks. Also is it true that vee brakes wear pads less than cantilevers?

Wear is subject to use/conditions/pad compound so I couldn't tell you if you'll be better off there, but your braking will be far better.

You may not need to change levers, especially if you have short style levers.

If you want to minimise adjustments further,then you could upgrade to cartridge type pads the next time you need pads - from then one you can slide out the worn pad and slide in a new one.
