UTV, midnight: Buffalo Bill and the Indians, or Sitting Bull's History Lesson. Directed by Robert Altman, with Paul Newman, Geraldine Chapman, Harvey Keitel and Burt Lancaster. If you know anything about Altman's early work, you'd be right to expect something seemingly shambolic, with layer upon layer of sights and sounds fighting for your attention. The Wikipedia article calls it a "revisionist Western": it's about the way the "West" was packaged as entertainment, even before Zane Grey or Hollywood were around, and the way the culture war between white men and "Indians" didn't end at Little Bighorn. (Was Altman was an early "Mythbuster"?)

From out there on the moon, international politics look so petty. You want to grab a politician by the scruff of the neck and drag him a quarter of a million miles out and say, ‘Look at that, you son of a bitch’.

    — Edgar Mitchell, Apollo 14 Astronaut

Every time this is on I mention it - A Shock to the System (1990) Michael Caine is a businessman in New York who realises he can get away with murder. Short, sharp black comedy with Caine in fine form - he does evil rather well.

    ITV 1 1:00am to 2:30am

RTE1 cut out at 11:51, one minute into the movie for me. Was out for at least an hour (stopped checking!).
It was the only channel that did this, just snow - no test card or anything.

    Anyone else experience this?
I'm with UPC, not sure if it was an RTE problem or UPC, haven't seen anything about it.

    I've seen neither btw.

While I enjoyed Hancock a little - had it's moments - there is simply no comparison to There Will Be Blood.

I noticed this, also on UPC.

Like others, I thought Hancock was very lightweight, but had its moments. I haven't seen There Will be Blood, but it has to be better.
