Sky 1, 10PM Saturday, one of Arnie's finest: The Running Man. Based on a Stephen King short story, it's about the ultimate game show: "I've Been Framed, Get Me Out Of Here Alive!"

Alternatively, there's The Peacemaker (10PM TV3), a solid terrorism thriller with George Clooney and Nicole Kidman. Notable also for being the first film produced by Dreamworks SKG.

From out there on the moon, international politics look so petty. You want to grab a politician by the scruff of the neck and drag him a quarter of a million miles out and say, ‘Look at that, you son of a bitch’.

    Short notice: The Italian Job (1969) is on TV3 at 12:30 PM, Sunday. It's a self-preservation society ... ;)

UTV is showing On Her Majesty's Secret Service today at 2:20PM. (It's a Bank Holiday in the UK today. in case you're wondering.) This is, in my opinion, the most underrated of the Bond films, and the only one with George Lazenby as Bond, and he does a very good job without trying to be another Sean Connery. Also starring Telly Savalas as Blofeld, and his "Angels of Death" include a young Joanna Lumley. It's more serious and sober than other Bond films, in a good way I think. The ending is particularly unusual for a Bond film.

It would have been better had they not dubbed Lazenby when he goes undercover. And if Telly Savalas hadn't been in the film (I just don't think he was very good in this movie). But it is underrated as a Bond movie. Very psychedelic at times, Diamonds are Forever really return Bond its original Connery style.

Think it is one of the only Bonds without out a theme song (might be the only one)

unless you take this a bond theme song

Treading on twitter  Wasn't too impressed, thought the fantasy war stuff took up too much of its time but a whole lot better then 'Your Highness' only it had Natalie Portman, so it balances out.

Article in Total Film or Empire about GoldenEye, I think they may need to get Martin Campbell to Direct all of the next bond movies, he seems to re-image Bond and then we get the sequels from his Bond :(

Watched Taking Lives last night. Very good thriller with Angelina Jolie, Ethan Hawke and Kiefer Sutherland: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/taking_lives/

On tonight is Falling Down with Michael Douglas, this film is a bit dated now but good enough: http://www.radiotimes.com/ListingsServlet?event=10&channelId=26&programmeId=192092263&jspLocation=/jsp/prog_details_fullpage.jsp

Also on Wednesday night (late 12:55am set your recorder) on Film4 is the brilliant Marathon Man, a 70's thriller and film classic with Dustin Hoffman and Laurence Olivier: http://www.film4.com/reviews/1976/marathon-man

Film4 are showing another 70's classic Paper Moon, on Friday at 6:45pm, (it'll be on Film4+1 an hour later.) An enjoyable, relaxed family movie with Ryan and Tatum O'Neal as depression era hustlers: http://www.film4.com/reviews/1973/paper-moon

Forgot to mention Walk the Line, the Johnny Cash biopic, on tonight on Film4 at 9pm: http://www.film4.com/reviews/2005/walk-the-line
