This time of the year there are a whole bunch of favourite movies on TV. I use filmflow.tv to keep track - if you use it, make sure you correctly set the channels you get.

    Some I've spotted so far:
    • BBC1, around 3PM on the 23rd, 24th & 25th: the Toy Story trilogy.
    • 23rd, RTE2, 23:25: The Blues Brothers
    • 25th, BBC1, 08:50: The Red Shoes. Much as I liked The Black Swan, I still think this film did it better, 65 years ago. :p
    • 26th 09:10 RTE1: High Society (1956). If you haven't seen it, what a swell party it is ...
      26th 21:50 TG4 Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.

From out there on the moon, international politics look so petty. You want to grab a politician by the scruff of the neck and drag him a quarter of a million miles out and say, ‘Look at that, you son of a bitch’.

    — Edgar Mitchell, Apollo 14 Astronaut

    3 great films.

Ya Battle Royale is v. gory but excellent flick. Bit long though and obviously if you don't like subtitles this isn't for you.

The writer of The Hunger Games claims she has never seen nor even heard of Battle Royale

Couldnt resist looking at Elf one more time as
    Dont say the word, Christmas
is finally over, although i hear today it was over for some on 9.30am that day selling unwanted presents on Donedeal :P

Yeah, Moneyball was a sleeper film, i enjoyed it as a neutral fan, as the Red Sox won 2 yrs later, wasnt it during the baseball film Fever Pitch based on Nick Hornby's book, i cant remember as it was that long ago?

That's probably why its on so late, probably catch it on somewhere, if the Hunger Games made 100 million, of course you've not heard of any other version!
