Getting in early with this one. Paddington is on Channel 4 next Sunday (Dec 11th). It's a really charming family film, well worth stocking up on hot chocolate, lighting the fire and snuggling up to watch.

    Nativity! on BBC2 this evening.

Fabulous family entertainment. Martin Freeman is a primary school teacher who tells a little lie about his school Nativity to one up a rival teacher. His classroom assistant overhears and soon the media and Hollywood are involved. Sounds silly but is really charming and funny and the kids and songs are all cracking.

It's just been added to Netflix too.

Over on the BBC website. Dr. Kermode has a video of recommended films over the Christmas season, here. Quite a few I'd never heard of, such as The Guest. He covers channels available in the UK, of course.

From out there on the moon, international politics look so petty. You want to grab a politician by the scruff of the neck and drag him a quarter of a million miles out and say, ‘Look at that, you son of a bitch’.

    It must be nearly Christmas.

Shawshank 9:00pm TV3. Now if only I had about 6 hours free :D (ok, then. 2.5hours! but mine sounded more dramatic)

Also, Captain America on Film4 at 9:00pm (and +1) if you prefer a bit more action adventure.

Hmph. Looks like someone high up is echoing a lot of sentiments. I remember a year or two ago where they advertised showing the movies as "the Indiana Jones trilogy...plus that newer fourth one...". Still prefer it to Temple of Doom though, but that's just me.
