nice link! This guy must be a nerd...don't know if he is endowed with the talents of a good Dublin scumbag

So whats the best deal for a commuter solution..I've got a 1k road bike and a 400 euro mtb. Got a 10 mile commute so would be nice to use something that eats the miles. Looks like 100 euro+ for a decent lock...maybe I should just buy a ****ty bike and cheap lock?

Good article. Shame that there are people about town who use power tools on bikes, but for the rest of the time, they look OK.

My lock features there, I have the next model up from the $30 kryptonite, good to hear it can take a decent beating :)

For commuting, get a chain and leave it locked up at your destination. No need to lug it around with you.

For security I use a simple chain with a few pieces of heavy duty duct tape on the seat. The bike appears old and has the illusion it's worthless. Park it in a bunch of bikes and it will be the last one any scumbag tries to lift. Never underestimate the power of perception;)

I would suggest looking in the lock shop on Frederick St North (http://bussched.sourceforge.net/gmaps/map.php?53.355085,-6.264031,17).

I've passed by another one on Dame St near Parliment St (http://bussched.sourceforge.net/gmaps/map.php?53.344211,-6.26682,17).

Cycle SuperStore in Tallaght has a monster chain for e150, or a ABUS u-lock for e97.50.
