Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'm looking at bringing wireless into the house at home.
Just wondering where it the best place to put a Access Point?
I live in a bungalow, best place up in the attic somewhere in the middle of the house? All the walls inside are concrete block which i assume doesnt help signal very much

It really depends on the layout of the building - in theory, yeah, the attic is a good place. I'd recommend using a reflector (You can purchase them , or make a cheap one with a bent bit of cardboard covered in tinfoil) & netstumbler to gauge the best positioning (This may be a bit awkward if you put the AP in the attic straight away...)
I assume you're thinking of using a laptop which is why you want coverage throughout the house. Just, remember: you don't need coverage of the entire house... you can do without Net access whilst in the bathroom...I hope.

That pretty much answers my question.
There's a few pc's in the house, my room, office and another family one. I cant see myself using the laptop much as i preffer my pc over it, had not taught about coverage in the toilet....yet :D
I'll have a mess around once i get the ap.

Would i have better reception outside of the house with the ap in the attic? You never know how tempted you might get to sit outside in the summer with laptop (if i can still see the screen that is).

    Thanks,
    Jozi
