Spotted this the other day in Easons & bought on impulse - 'May on Cars'...

I've only read one or two articles so far. He's more knowledegable on the technical side than Clarkson (wouldn't be hard). He's kinda the third wheel on Top Gear but a talented writer...

Mixed feelings about Clarkson - in many ways he's a sad old man & we've heard his opinions a million times. But Top Gear's success is down to his irreverent personality & it's streets ahead of the other car shows.

I know I can just take his word about things rather than JC's many (hidden) agendas. I've gone off JC in the past few years. He can be funny but he has been talking and writing sh!te on many occasions

And I should mention I don't like the current format of TG at all

James May is old school, thinks its right and proper to have bath full of bike parts! He likes old British cars that leak so he's alright in my book.

He is by far the most knowledgeble of the top gear crew. I find what clarkson writes interesting but he's a bit of a twat . I read Top gear magazine every month and May is , in my opinion much better than a lot of the others and is a lot more down-to-earth and genuine. Also he's the best one on the tv top gear too.

I really liked his presentation of the Triumph TR6 on TG a few years back. Made me proud to own one.
