Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Diminishing scars

I'm going in to surgery tomorrow to have a small, benign lump removed from my breast. The surgery is going to leave a two inch scar across my breast. I'm 24, recently single, needless to say I'm worried about the scar. In almost any other place - leg, foot, hand, arm, back - it wouldn't be a big deal. But it will cut right across the top half of my breast, which probably won't be very attractive to any guys lucky enough to actually see them.
What can I do to diminish the appearance of this scar? I feel really vain for asking, but I know it's going to end up being a cause of self-consciouness for me anytime I'm in a bathing suit or wearing a low cut shirt or just getting topless.
    Thanks.

Bio-oil is meant to be good for helping scars fade. Not sure where you get it, maybe Boots?? Also Lancome do a cream called Nutrix that is brillant for scars but pricey.

If you are looking for make-up to cover up the scars Veil concealer is one of the best. Used in film and television. http://www.veilcover.com/ I've mentioned this before but the 20 Colour Demo kit its brillant. I have this in my kit and its brilliant for covering scars, bruises, tattoos, blemishes, dark circles. It just takes a bit of practising with the blending. And its waterproof!!

There's also another brand called Dermablend but I haven't used it myself. http://www.dermablend.com/Fullcatalog.aspx

I'm assuming you'd like the scar to fade as much as possible, rather than covering it up with make-up?

Try Mother of Pearl anti-scar cream - you can buy it in any good health food shop. I bought it for a red mark a pimple had left on my chin and it is very soothing. I also fell over at work and got a big scab on my knee, like a toddler:) but have been rubbing in this lovely cream and it is definitely fading.

Good wishes for tomorrow - hopefully the scar won't be as big as you fear.
