That's quite a lot of makeup, quite a difference in some of those pics!

I think this does more harm that good in improving the attitude towards girls who play games.......never seen any myself, but heard a few girls complain.

That said, they probably had names like 'Gamerchick17' or whatever.

On Gamertv this morning, letting them out in public does more harm to the ozone layer tbh.

They give all girl gamers a bad name. The amount of bitching about them that goes on in all-female gaming communities is unreal.

Does anyone know if they actually play games? Or Are they just models?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,909 ✭✭✭✭Wertz

    Hawt.

I know I'll be influenced to buy [insert game company title]'s products by this method of marketing, since said product will obviously enable me to pick up girls who look as hawt as this...we'll have, like, so much in common!

nah they actually play in tournaments (only sponsored ones)... but most of the time they just stand around in branded clothing looking pretty

Do you really think the all-female gaming community is all female. I'd say 75% of them are males hiding behind a cute username. :D

Pff, I still would. Regardless of the 733Tness or, really quite clearly, their lack thereof.

Did someone at Ubisoft really think for even a spilt second that we (gaming types) wouldn't see through the sheer PR-ness of this?. I mean, what's the point of this really?, do they (Ubisoft) think I'm going to go out and buy a truckload of their games because of a bunch of bints who claim to play games and are 'L33T' and will 'PWN n00bs'?..

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 16,696 Mod ✭✭✭✭Silverfish

    *pant Puff wheeze*

Sorry what? I didn't catch that, I'm just in from dashing out to buy a load of Ubisoft games.....I got.....here, hold on, these are ****e!!!

I couldn't care less who enjoys playing games!, but when a group like this gets formed for obvious PR reasons and, to be honest, it's likely not one of them has played a game in their lives (bar Snake II on a Nokia), it's just a bit of an insult to ones intelligence that they expect us to buy into it.

as a publisher, they're already fairly high up my list of favourites. them using hawt ladies to help sell products that i would have bought regardless is just gravy in my book :)

i'd like to pwn their bases with my uber micro...

    Les Seules, female Counter-Strike clan
    http://www.1up.com/do/feature?cId=3135803

"Aurora" is one of the most successful and reknowned female gamer. With 26 years of age, she has nearly won every trophy gamers can win. She won highly paid tournaments from across the world, being the team leader of "Les Seules" and the "Female ESport Player of the Year 2005." Her clan "Les Seules" is not only known for their pretty members, but also for their tremendous number of won matches.

That's nice, but I'm not seeing your point, if you were making one.

First off, an 'All female Clan'?

This imo is pretty rediculous. Excluding people on the basis of sex would be the first thing people would whinge about if it were the other way around. Why is it okay for women to do it?

Also, winning 'Female ESport player of the year 2005'? Great stuff but in fairness, it was going to be her or another woman. It doesn't show how well she ranks overall, male and female.
Its like women's tennis - sure they're good against other women, but how would it be if there was an overall tournament, men and women against each other?

I'm not sure I was making a point.
I can see no apparent reason why there would be a female gaming league besides the sponsors wants to cash in on the sexy aspect of things.

A problem with girls in the gaming world is that there are sooo many more guys playing that the odds are against the girls to win.

But why is it always chicks vs blokes? What's the point? Why not player vs player?

You don't see the girly gamers posting threads regarding 'Omg check out this all guy clan in the Netherlands!! OMG!!!'

Its only blokes that focus on the 'sexy chicks hurrrrr' aspect of it.

F*ck if I know. Maybe gaming interest coincides with the general "OMG, She so HOT LOLZ" years anyway ?
