This imo is pretty rediculous. Excluding people on the basis of sex would be the first thing people would whinge about if it were the other way around. Why is it okay for women to do it?

Also, winning 'Female ESport player of the year 2005'? Great stuff but in fairness, it was going to be her or another woman. It doesn't show how well she ranks overall, male and female.
Its like women's tennis - sure they're good against other women, but how would it be if there was an overall tournament, men and women against each other?

Well in fairness, she has a point. These girls are just playing on the male fantasy 'hurrr hot gamer gurls'. Like I said before, if you're a bloke playing CS or whatever, no-one gives two ****s what you look like.

But for a girl, its different.

Fair play to them, if they aren't made up and photoshopped to be unrecognisable to whoever knows them, and - most importantly, can play, want to play, and have a genuine interest in playing and aren't just some front for some company.

This is never going to change. Guys like games. Guys like girls, guys like looking at pictures of girls and talking about how hawt girls are. Most girls don't have the same interests as guys, but some do. Thus it's inevitable that combining all these factors will result in a system overload, and that some companies will use it for marketing. It's lame, but whaddayagonnadoaboutit? There are self-respecting, good female gamers, but the average person won't hear about them because they don't do this kind of Fragdolls **** (ie more interviews/attention than actual gaming).

A clan should have the best players available to them, not just the best male or female player.

You know, people give out about how transparent this PR exercise is, but we've already spent 3 pages talking about this, which is better than your average Games thread, and is exactly the kind of reaction Ubisoft's marketing department were looking for.

I doubt we're this is the only gaming for where such a discussion has taken place either.

It looks like you think booth babes are banned this year at E3, they're not. Apparently, they just have to dress up, as such.

Ubisoft's gamer girls, or whatever, were at E3 last year. I think they were up stairs at the Ubisoft stand playing away or something.
