Any value in V. Pareto's "Circulation of Elites," or what has been referred to in metaphor as the "Lions and the Foxes," when attempting to explain the transition between the Bill Clinton presidency and the George W. Bush presidency? Or if you want to go back further: Bush I > Clinton > Bush II.
