Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Gardaí seek public’s help in Waterford murder case

Gardaí in Waterford have appealed for information from the public in relation to the murder of James Purcell last week.

The 60-year-old was found dead in his flat on Henrietta Street last Friday evening.

Gardaí say he had injuries on his neck and throat and may have been dead for some time. A weapon was found at the scene, but gardaí have not disclosed what type of weapon it was.

Detectives investigating the case say they want to speak to anyone who may have seen the victim in the last few weeks.

His last known sighting was on March 7, when he collected a book from the library at Lady Lane.

This is absolutely shocking , to think the poor man could have been lying dead in a flat for nearly seven weeks , its the kind of thing you hear happening in places like London where nobody knows each other but not in a small city like Waterford , but I suppose its another indication of the way society has gone in Ireland

Quiet life, quiet death...some woman in Britain was discovered in her home after 3 YEARS last week. Someone out there sudenly changed thier demeanor
when that story broke I'd say. The culprit proberly thought they'd get away scott free, maybe they have.

    Mike.
