we're looking for composers to score some short pieces of music for a number of teenage short films which were made at a film school this summer. The films will be screened and launched officially in early October so the sooner we get cracking on the music, the better! we're intending to send them to festivals also. if you have samples or links to your work can you let us know at info@digitalfilmschool.ie

Hey guys,
My name is Jamie Brennan,a final year film director in DIT. We need music for a short scene from a comedy, and I was hoping you might be interested in helping us out!

The scene shows the tension which builds as two grown men are about to be confronted by an army of urchin children. We have cut the scene in a spaghetti western style, with faster and faster cuts, using a Morricone track as a guide. The music is key to the scene, as it is equally responsible for the comedic building of tension as the cutting is.

We have high hopes for this short on the festival circuit and beyond, and it will provide excellent exposure for the composer.

Hey, I do music under the name of Sounds Like. It's kinda experimental/atmos stuff that might work for a film.

I'm in a normal band too that have an EP and all that jazz so I'm not interested in money from Sounds Like, just getting the music out there. All I'd ask is permission first and the appropriate copyright and author title to my music (cuz even though I don't want to charge, I also don't want someone stealing the music or not giving me my due credit, not unreasonable, is it?)

Hi Paul,

I'm about to film a 5 min black and white short which focuses on a homeless man and his interactions with the environment around him. It will be shot early 2010. There wil be little or no dialogue so music will be a big selling point. I hope to enter the film into several competitons and although I can't offer you anyting in the way of royalties as yet the film may act as a platform for to sell your work.
