Problem with Mem stick pro duo

My firend had a PSP which he got from Santa;) and I bought a mem stick pro duo online (1gb). i put music on it (mainly mp3). When my friend put the mem card in his PSP no music files showed up I have verified that the files are on the memory card... Could someone please advise me on if the files have to be put into folders…

audio goes into the folder PSP > Music
Pics go into folder PSP>Pictures

They have to be put into a Music folder. IIRC its PSP>MUSIC but you better google to be sure. Or if you format the mem stick from the PSP it will create all the folders you need, but you'll lose all your saves
