    Hi,

Need to take my car for a service and its the first time i have done this. Does anyone have any idea of what it'll cost me for a general service?

Also I'll probably need to get a new exhaust box and get the wheels balanced. Does wheel balancing usually get covered in a general service?

Any idea how much it would cost to get my brakes done - not sure if this is needed at the mo though.

Anyone know of a good / trustworthy place in either Dundalk or else Fairview in Dublin?

    Thanks a million.

    K

Theres a guy in Glasnevin called Chawke (8305318). He will sort you out. Wheel balancing is normally done in those quick-fit places..

If you're going to an independent garage, make sure they use 0W30 grade oil, zetecs are very particular.

Main dealer full service...€250. This excludes brake pads which they'll charge €80 to do.

Balancing will also be extra and that costs €35.

If ya need a number for a decent independant grage pm me.

    Hope this helps.

Oh and the oil is 5w/30 no 0w/30 and it must be ford oil.

5w30 is what ford recommend for all their zetec engines(petrol)
    op don't you mean 1.25 not 1.3?

Yeah 5W30. Wheel balancing can be done seperately, should only cost maybe a fiver a corner. If you're anyway handy, do the oil change yourself. You need minimal tools and only basic skills. Oil and filter for €40. Brake pads for €30. You should be able to do both easily within two hours or so, which would cost the guts of €200 in a dealer.

Exhausts much cheaper at an independent specialist too - ring around for prices to supply and fit before you commit to anyone.
