Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Try here:

    http://www.leinsterchess.com/Clubs.aspx

    or here:

    http://www.icu.ie/clubs/list.php?filter=Dublin

The Rathmines club meets up in Rathgar if that's close to you.

Not sure, it might depend on whether you want to play for one of their league teams or not. Cost me €90 a year with Elm Mount - about 40-50 of that goes to the ICU and the rest helps cover rental of premises. They have really cheap pints though, so that helps :)

For whoever was looking for the Galway Chess Club, it's at galwaychess.com. We're currently on a summer break right now - weather's too good to be indoors playing chess!

sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

we moved the galway chess club website to www.galwaychess.net. someone took galwaychess.com when we forgot to renew it :-(

the club is still on the summer break. probably back in Sept - most of us in Galway prefer to wait for the nights to fall in before getting back to the chess boards...

Note that we're currently organizing the 2006 Galway Chess Congress for Sept 29-Oct 1 at the Corrib Great Southern in Galway. See the website for more info. Prize fund is €4,430.
