Two of the most entertaining matches of the season was the Basel match and now this one.
What a result. Maccarone popped up late on again to get the vital one.

Another unbelievable result for Boro but you have got to ask just what the hell Steau were at. They just went so deep and with a dodgy keeper like that they were asking for trouble. Fair play to Boro for coming back but Steau threw it away.

Congratulations to Boro, for getting to the final and also an amazing comeback. Coming back needing 4 goals is really amazing and in the sense that they played all out football, throwing caution to the wind. This is the way football should be played and its amazing how they have now done it twice!

Maybe they would be better off in the final giving Seville a 2-goal start!

Boro gave away two soft goals, it looked like nerves. But when there is nothing to lose nerves go out the window. Steau had to defend deep as Boro pushed everyone forward, the goals came, but it nearly didnt work out, with the last one in the 89th minute.

I re-read some of the 1997 season recently and re-discovered that Boro lost two finals tha year, the FA Cup and the League Cup. They have since gone on to win the league cup, but they are a team deserving of success. I dont know the Seville story, so who knows, they may be equally or even more deserving. Just looking forward to a good game - knowing football, it will be 0-0.

Im still in shock after that game. Walking around with a huge smile on my face and a massive headache after the victory booze last night. As has been said already - UNBELIEVABLE!
