I have a wireless network card in my PC and laptop. I'm trying to get a wirless network set up for home use on the laptop. My wireless router is a SMC router which is connected to a Smart Broadband modem. It will connect fine from PC and the wireless router will be picked up by the laptop but I can't get an Internet signal from the wireless router to the laptop. Can any one help. Thanks.

Please give more details about the laptop - is it a recent model? what os are you using is the wireless card 'b' or 'g' - what settings are on the router in relation to b/g?

Will the laptop connect ok to the net by a wired connection/

Check that your TCP/IP settings are set to automatically assign IP addresses.
Go to Control Panel, Network Connections, choose Wireless Network, scroll down to TCP/IP highlight it and choose Properties tab. Ensure obtain IP address automatically is clicked. Should solve problem I hope.
