Your friendly RTÉ weather forecasts (and presumably TV3 also) are getting a new sponsor.

The sponsorship was put out to tender recently and Glanbia won.

€1000,000 a year aparently... (Article from todays Irish indo farming section)
GLANBIA Consumer Foods is the new sponsor of RTE television's weather bulletins.

The little stick man who has been caught burgling houses on a nightly basis by Eircom Phone Watch is set to be replaced by a Glanbia sponsorship - and no, it won't be a man stealing money from the farmers' pockets, as some observers have mused. It is understood that the sponsorship will centre around Glanbia's Avonmore, Yoplait, Petits Filous and Kilmeaden.

The sponsorship deal covers a two-year period, with stings appearing around all forecasts - with over 50 bulletins broadcast per week.

These forecasts attract an average audience of over a quarter of a million, peaking with an average 603,000 viewers on RTE One, following the Nine O'Clock News.

After a tendering process, Glanbia Consumer Foods won the weather sponsorship, which has not come to the market for 17 years.

The sponsorship deal is estimated to cost Glanbia Foods €1m per year.

I'd say, the "mootifull" weather you see ahead will turn out to be just Milky Sunshine though.

Jeez, imagine if there was a heatwave...

"The weather is about to turn sour folks" :winks: GF style! ;)
