Car auctions and cheap insurance

    hi just looking for information about car auctions. Do you have to be a car dealer to attend these auctions and are they worthwhile also were are they based and is there anyway of checking to see if the car is ok? also is there any way arond the extremely high price of insurance like getting insured up north or in england or else were in the eu or that? any info greatly recieved thank you.

    Auctions are tempting but, unless its an auction of repossessed finance cars, I'd be wary. They're often the last route to getting rid of a car that won't sell, just to get something for it. Any half decent cars will be picked up by experienced car traders, the dross will be left to newbies and there's no come-back if you get a dud. Not sure about getting cars checked out beforehand but I suspect the opportunities will be limited and will not include a road test.

    No insurance company outside of ROI will touch you - the claims profile in this country strongly discourages them.
