    OK...

Need to buy some saffron as a present for someone (they are into their cooking). But i want to buy a quantity of it, not just the usual 30 threads you get in the supermarket.

Anyone know anyplace in Dublin that sells (nicely presented) tins of saffron? Like a 10gr box, something like that. Should retail for €50/€60.

    thanks in advance.

I'd check the asain shops, I've only ever seen the small see-through box with the golden writing on it, but if you have any chance I'd imagine that they'd be the place to check.

not a clue mate but why not sweet talk the owner in your local restaurant if you have one,and get it at the wholesale price(worth a try)

I would be fairly certain that buying off the interenet would be the cheapest option, but i have to get the saffron by this weekend... I had tried to buy off saffronspecialist.co.uk a number of weeks ago, but have got nothing or heard anything from them, and am currently working with paypal to get my money back. So a provisional 'buyer beware' with regards to saffronspecialist.co.uk!
