Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Network Setting Box Error

    Hi folks,

Wondering if anyone can shed any light on an XP error I'm getting.

I'm trying to set Internet Connection Sharing from a network card on my machine. It's worked for me before no problem, but my machine has been having issues recently (not booting occasionally). Now when I try to bring up the Network Settings box I get the standard error:

"Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

If it's any use the error report has this to say:
AppName: explorer.exe AppVer: 6.0.2600.0 ModName: unknown
    ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 000f27aa

Any thoughts at all could be helpful...
    CHEERS! :)

Actually I did right after my post...
Now the machine won't even boot up again! (Am in work now)
    Methinks the HD is screwed.

Replacement machine has been ordered anyway. Just wanted to use the old POS in the meantime. :|

Before the reinstall have a go at resetting TCP/IP settings

    netsh.exe ip int reset resetlog.txt

    <too late>

will the machine boot up in Safe Mode ?

will the machine boot up in Safe Mode ?
    Nope. :(

It gets as far as the black screen that usually lists your CPU and such info - then simply freezes on the first line.

None of the F keys work, can't get into dos, and it won't boot from CD.

Gonna be offline for the weekend it seems. :|
