Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi

Right here is what I have. I finally got broadband sorted and now I need to just make sure that the usual security measures are in place. Firewall av etc.

Running Windows XP Pro SP2 with all hotfixes etc.

What will be happening is that my computer has multiple login accounts, 1 admin, 1 power and 3 user. I want an AV solution that will work on all 5 accounts without having to install on each account.

I use fast user switching so it could be running multiple times rather than logging in and out.

    Any ideas

AVG (Free) will do the job.

Is this something you want? Or don't want?

    I second AVG free....
Might be worth checking out a few of the AV's recommended in the linky in my sig as well.

Sorry should have mentioned, I would like to be able to set up different profiles for levels of Virus scanning, those with user privelages will have the most protection because well the reason they have only user privs is because they dont really take the time to stop read and then click.

Is that possible with AVG. Normally i would be using something like Norton but i had an issue (I am not sure if it was a licencing issue or not) but it seemed to have a hissy fit when i used fast user switching on the machine in question.

I want to use fast user switching, what I dont want is it to start new AV processes and then give out if one tries to block the other etc etc

I've used AVG free with Fast User switching and I havent had any problems.
I dont think the profiles is possible within AVG free....And to be honest I think you should keep the same level of scanning and protection for all users on the machine (high).

    Thats a good point.

Right hopefully that will do the trick. I have some of my drives limited to only certain users to stop issues with them changing files or installing software(all the software installs are one drive as backup iso's)

    Thanks for all that
