Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hey all

Ive a little techy knowledge but could do with some advise on how to setup a home wireless LAN etc.

My situation is - Eircom BB with 3 PC's - not currently networked so only one has access to Web. I want to setup a wireless LAN so I can share the bb to the other PC's.

    So, my questions:

    1. I need to buy a wireless ADSL modem and hub (any recommendations)?

    2. For the PC's do I need to buy wireless LAN cards ?

    3. Will I have problems changing my current Eircom Netopia modem do ye think?

Think thats it for now - just want to get an idea of what I need to buy etc before starting this.

Any feedback/advise much appreciated....plus - I'll let ye know how NOBRAINS gets on on this mission !!!!

Buy the Linksys WRT54G wireless/wired router.
Plug this directly into your netopia modem.
Get two wireless either USB or Internal (Preferably linksys as well) to connect to the wireless router (I assume the other PC can connect to the wired part of the router)
Set up WEP on the router and maybe MAC address filtering (check out the link in my sig...regarding security)

EDIT-you shouldnt need to change the netopia modem at all-just plug the network cable from it into the Linksys router (instead of your PC)
