Help ! need an amp and speakers

    Hi
    I have a Panasonic DVD player that has a co-ax output but no 5.1.
    However I know i can connect to an amp (that has 5.1) through the co-ax.

    I live in Spain and im looking for a decent amp and speakers
    for roughy 400-500, I saw a good sony amp for 299 today.

    So can anyone basically advise me on good models,
    or maybe ill just buy a all in one DVD + 5.1 system they seem to
    be much better value?

    I see good ones for 400, yet the cheapest AMps and spekears on their
    own are 500+ !!!

    Im not looking for state of the art here, but decent!!
    Reason im posting this is cos my Spanish is grand for getting
    food beer etc, but when i need to ask tech. questions .... eh..

    So if you could likificate me to some good models !
