Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

'Irish' voiceovers dubbed on UK documentaries for RTE?

Is it just me or are RTE taking in a load of documentaries (mostly from UK I think) and giving them narration by Irish people (in English)? Nothing wrong with this per se, but some of the narrators are absolutely appalling! e.g. they started doing 'Days that shook the world' this weekend - an excellent BBC series now ruined by a narrator completely without gravitas who was obviously just reading off a sheet of paper without thinking of what he was saying in context! What is the point of this? Would I be right in thinking that sticking on a narration by an Irish person somehow makes the programme 'Irish' to fill some sort of quota? Or am I mad?

What i get dissapointed with is knowing that they're taking someone else's programme and trying to make it seem as if it was made for RTE, the documentries rte does for itself, like hidden history and Hands are top quality as far as i'm concerned and wouldn't it be better for them to try and create something original themselves rather than rehash something most people will have already seen? the best evidence is some of the programes TG4 make. really high quality interesting stuff at times
