Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Silent Windows

After reinstalling windows, my computer is strangely silent. The usual dongs, chimes and annoying windows startup music is missing. Is it media player that plays these tunes or is it some other app?

    Thanks
    Pat

Are your sound card drivers installed?

Maybe you have them switched off? Control Panel -> Sounds

I suspect it is a driver problem. If I click on the sound through explorer it works. it is only if I assign a sound to a windows event(start, exit etc) it doesnt work. The little play button is not available in the Sound & audio Properties.

Obvious but: Are your speakers powered on and plugged in?

Check driver has installed correctly in Contro Panel->system->hardware->device manager.

    Sounds like a driver issue

Hang on.... other sounds work? You're just missing the "annoying windows startup music" et al? This is a bad thing!?!?
