Nissan 6cd changer broken??

My sister bought a 2001 2dr almeara and the 6cd changer is giving trouble. It doesnt seem to work properly, theres 5 cd`s stuck in it and only 2of the slots light up. Anyone know if these are fixable or whats a general cost on a new one? Its the cd changer where the changer is built into the headunit, not a seperate yoke…

Its the cd changer where the changer is built into the headunit, not a seperate yoke in the boot.

Also, has anyone taken the standard radio out of an almeara, its built into the dash and looks awkward to remove. Is it just like any other car or does half the dash have to come out.

I only saw the car once cant remember the layout, she only has it a week or so, but she says the radio controls are built into the dash above the air cond controls abd the cd changer bit is seperate to them buttons down at the bottom. Hmmmmmmmm.
