Plumbing / Hot Tank Question

    Hi,
I have a question about the hot tank. I turned off taps in the hot press at the weekend to replace a shower. But now, after turning them all back on the hot water is only heating to be luke warm, despite whether I use the gas or the immersion.

All four of the taps in the hot press are fully turned on. Now I am wondering, was one of the taps not fully turned on, hence restricting the cold water flow in / hot water flow out of the tank.

The heating is still working as normal.

The taps I have are as follows. (some are labelled)

    1. "Cold Feed to Cylinder for Hot Water"
    2. "Cold Feed for Plumbing Toilets"
    3. One coming out of the bottom of the tank connecting to two pipes, one of which is like an overflow pipe.
    4. Seems to be the hot water flow from the tank.

There is also a valve but I am 100% positive that is in the position that it was in before I started my work.

I know I should have taken note of the exact position of the taps before I started my work, but I was convincd that all taps are either on or off???

Where is the thermostat usually located in the hotpress for the temperature of the water? I cannot find it. Maybe this is my problem?

Anyway, if you can spot what is going wrong, can you please post.

    Cheers

Is the water in the cylinder hot?
    You might have an airlock

The water in the air cylinder is somewhat hot. Not as hot as it used to be.

Mainly just the top half is luke warm, rather than the whole tank being very warm.

What are symptoms of an airlock? All the pressure in the taps and showers are fine.

    Thanks

Have similar issue. had to close taps to remove warm water pipe in Kitchen.
Now my hot water supply isn't what it used to be. Tank is really hot on the top, bottom half is cold.
Water pressure and flow are normal, just the amount of hot water is significantly less.

I read about how to remove airlocks from pipes (forcing cold water into the hot water tap) but will that affect the tank as well? As water is flowing.

    TIA
