Looks neat. What's with the wire at the bottom?

    Mabye its not wireless.

It looks very taut... perhaps it's balanced on a pole of some sort?

Wireless would be better but it's more the fact that it's at the bottom I was on about.

Looks like it might be wrapped around from the top though.

looks uncomfortable tbh. like a snes pad or somethin

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,488 ✭✭✭Goodshape

    That's the idea. ('Classic').

...well, not the uncomfortable part.. I'm sure it's more comfortable than a snes pad.

so is that supposed to be a controller to cover snes to n64 games? given that the wiimote doubles as a nes pad anyway

Don't think the wire is coming out the bottom of it - look again - it looks like it might be coming out of the top but folded down behind it.

Very hi-res pic of the classic controller here. The wire does seem to be folded down from the top.

Also notice the two Z-buttons up top (ZL and ZR). This thing looks like it may be fairly small (in width anyway), would need to be if you're expected to reach those Z buttons.

I imagine they'll release reissues of the original controllers with Wii ports; collectable items etc.

That controller looks alright, but not great tbh

    looks fairly "meh" tbh
think i'll just use my wavebird instead:cool:

Looks a fair bit like a SNES pad to me. Just with 3 extra buttons & 2 sticks.
Mind you, there seems to be a bit of extra plastic around the bottom -- not sure how comfortable that will be...

    Looks beautiful imo

The cable is so you can plug it into the Wii-mote.

I thought it would have made more sense to plug it into the four gamecube ports on the Wii, or even the USB port...

Are there usb ports on this, wasnt sure about that?

    Yup, two.

    From here
Wii boasts 512 megabytes of internal flash memory, two USB 2.0 ports and built-in Wi-Fi capability.

Using SD memory is a great idea, instead of using some sort of proprietary modules.

I've never preordered anything from a game shop, but I'll preorder the wii as soon as a release date is set.
