So... Middlesbrough aren't going to win. I am therefore no longer clairvoyant...

This is very bad news for beloved Munster, ss! :(

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,270 ✭✭✭singingstranger

You just wait to see how Brian Kennedy does, to see how good I really am...

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,196 ✭✭✭✭Crash

I think we should switch em - Brian Kennedy Vs. Biarritz and the Munster lads in the Eurovision.

partially because i want to see brian kennedy getting TRAMPLED alive. but thats just me.

I would like to use this, my 1000th post, to declare that I am, in fact, a closet Eurovision fan, and am ashamed of myself for thinking that the semi was, in fact, tonight.

There's a 1990's/Britpop quiz on my Bebo if anyone wants to indulge their kiddie sides.

*edit: this is weird, I'm watching UKTV G2, Room 101 is on, and the second I looked up, on the opening theme they were showing a drawer called 'Eurovision Hits'... eh...

I don't *hide* it, but I don't profess it openly without being asked...

    There are 5 examinable topics.
I am slightly aware of one of them.

Actually I believe it might have been "Hey, thanks for opening the door that you'd left locked on us for a good five minutes."*

    ...

How could you think that? You sicken me! Ya know I have a friend who's just mad about the eurovision, his dad taught one of the mcgettigan/harrington duo how to play piano way back when, can't remember which it was though.

What's your favourite Irish eurovision song? Mine's Rock N Roll kids, The Voice is a close second though. I want it to be in Mill Street again so I can go. Damned losing streak!

Me too! That lordi one is catching on with me. Vid is on youtube. Hot girl in it and all. Oh and zombies!

I loved "the Voice" - thought it flowed really well or something

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,270 ✭✭✭singingstranger

The Voice was a great song, but my favourite was the amhrán Gaelach that came bottom in Eurosong 1998, an Bon Bon Carr.

Is mise an fear leis an bon bon carr,
An bon bon carr is an carr is fearr
is mise an fear leis an bon bon carr!
(backing singers)Bon bon carr! Bon bon carr!

*sob* why that came bottom to those sisters I'll never know. That was the year of the scandalous collapsing televote, actually - I remember being appallingly frustrated when every phone call to the Bon Bon Carr's phone number was engaged. How could it come last when clearly the line couldn't take any more phone calls? It must be off the hook! I thought. Turns out that they went to backup juries. I was gutted.

    /me does the ooh-yeah-I'm-psychic dance

I forsee Middlesbrough to be losing at half-time tonight but to win the UEFA Cup final, Brian Kennedy not to get out of the Eurovision Semi-Final, and Ruth to win The Apprentice.

    Let's have a look back at 11pm...
...although they were losing at half time, and Michelle has won the Apprentice...

    You were WRONG!!! :p

Hermione, I'd put a tenner on Biarritz if I were you...

Good God Gav that was quick!

edit: with the beboing and adding and all - nothing bad implied :p

I remember the whole televote collapse! I still think we should go back to panel voting now. At least the judges usually got it right. With televoting it's all gone very politicised and people vote for their neighbouring countries. Tis crapple.

Hey what do ya think of the Rose of Tralee? Another cheesefest not to be missed imo.

Must be said, actually, I could <3 Blush_01 for its conception. So much nicer here than on TCN.

Well I think I did pretty well with it!

Maybe I should start my own Blush board somewhere, where people come and spam to their heart's content... like a cult, but with less candles and food tents and Home and Away... oops, I've gone too far this time.

We could even have a mutual appreciation thread.

Although I agree, SS and Elmyra are getting dangerously close, like two moths dancing around a flame. They'll either get incinerated or headbutt eachother and end up with nosebleeds.

    So is life!

(I haven't read about 15 pages of this thread, it defeats the purpose of the Spam thread's existence.)

    Night now!

    I had a thought.....

The whole point of the spam thread is that people put things in here that are, by their nature, off-topic.....

However, by doing so, they are staying on-topic for this thread...

So really, none of this is spam and if you were to go off-topic here, you still wouldn't be spamming....

So, with this, has spamming (or non-spamming as the case may be) been legitimised and shoved into a place where it can be controlled, much like prostitution and drugs in Holland?

Bring spam back! We're all playing along with this and by spamming (or not spamming, I'm getting confused) in here, we are contributing to the death of spam which is oh so fun!

Nah, it's your BO that's making her uncomfortable. That and the large amount of Asian porn you're scrolling thru. :p
