Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Morientes?! odd choice

is Xavi fit? or xabi alonso?

It was a major shock to see Pernia not included, and DelHorno included.

Luis Aragones has ballsed up there I think

    Casillas
    Ramos--Puyol--Pablo--Capdevila

    Alonso
    Xavi

    Joaquin
    Reyes
    Villa----Torres

Will he have the balls to drop Raul? and play 2 wingers AND two up front. Spain have been searching for someone to play off Torres, finally they've got Villa.

Anyway, strong in every position, but no backup wingers means he's more keen to play 4-2-3-1

Hey, what position does Javi Venta play in defence ?

It looks like Salgado is their only specialist right back !!

Glad to see Andres Iniesta in there, hes had a good season, works very hard on the pitch, one of the rising stars of the future.

Cicinho is right back, Ramos is played at Centre Half, but is a superior right back than Salgado imo, While Salgado may offer more going forward, Ramos is great from set pieces and has unreal fitness levels.

They don't have enough. Too many inconsistent youngsters alongside overhyped seniors. I don't see them going any further than usual this time.

Well David Villa is a world class striker. He has scored 25 goals in La Liga this season, and if he gets the service he will put them away. I say he will do well, and Torres can score too. Xavi and Fabregas would be great for midfield but am not sure about Joaquin this season.

Salgado-Puyol-Pablo-Capdevila would be a good defence, and Casillas is the best goalie.

Its Joaquin's inconsistency and the lack of other Wingers which makes me think he'll play maybe 2 across the middle, with one holding, 1 Attacking Mid (Raul?) and two up top.

No Daniel Alves at right back either. Presme he's Spanish?

I thought the manager usually picked Garcia, leaving out either Reyes or Joaquin?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,836 ✭✭✭Vokes

    Casillas

---Salgado --- Puyol --- Marchena --- del Horno

    Alonso

    Xavi
    Baraja

Brazillian, well, dual nationality, Although this seems a sore point for Spaniards, although Marcos Senna has made the squad (Brazillian)

If that team can't win either this year or Euro 08 then they should never win anything.

Huge news with Mori being dropped, I wonder did he know before the FA Cup final?

His poor form has cost him a WC place, As i thought Baraja got cut. Formation looks like 4-2-3-1.

Team more or less picks iteself, very few weak links.

Just to drag this back up.

Del Horno is out of the squad(thank feck) and now its a choice between Pernia(class) and Capdevilla(better than DelHorno)

Hope he picks Pernia who has been outstanding in LaLiga and is a dead ball specialist scoring 10 goals in La Liga this year !
