Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

If anyone gets a chance read 'Money Ball - The Art of Winning an Unfair Game' by Michael Lewis.

It's about the Oakloand A's and their GM Billy Beane.
Oakland have one of the smallest payrolls in MLB but are still competitive (to an extint), this book explains how they do it. Very interesting.

It's a great book alright, all the more so now that it's a few years old so you can see the career progression of some of the players and staff mentioned, for example Paul DePodesta and Kevin Youkalis.

The Greek God of Walks (Youkalis) as he was called in the book is doing well with the sox, but I though the Dodgers sacked DePodesta as GM at the end of last season

DePodesta was sacked, maybe career progression was the wrong term to use, I meant more that you can see what's happened to these guys since the book was written.
