It's about a 10 - 15 minute walk along the quays to the city centre from the Point... There's a Jury's on the quays there too.. could be worth checking there.

ok thanks monkeyfudge...that was full for friday nite though.

do you think if we got a hotel in the city centre would it be easy to get there by taxi from the point? what area's would be the best i.e i dont even know if we should be staying in dublin 1,2,3,4 or whatever....?

    thanks

D1 and D2 are the city centre immediately North and South of the Liffey.

Traffic to and from the Point is always absolutely horrible as it's quite a bottle neck with a concert on, it would cost you a fortune in a taxi... so I'd suggest getting into the city centre and walking up the quays to The Point.

depends.. that's a long street... If it's Lower Leeson Street then that's right next to St. Stephens Green.

Oh I'm sure they're both nice... but Leeson street would be a posher end of town.. although the too locations would be too far away from each other.

    Both areas are fine though.
