I wanted peoples taughts on this.
Wenger showed trust when the fans saw failure. It took him nearly a whole season to produce fair to average performances for Arsenal. Wenger still believed he could do it. He kept his faith in him.
Lets put it this way. At Juventus he wasnt getting his game, and probably wouldnt have gotten his game. Would have been kept on the sidelines. Some lower league team would have bought him and he would have vanished into the unknown.
Loyalty..... where has it gone to. Ok so he wants to get Champions league medals. He is in the Final now. Why wont he sign the contract worth 120.000 a week. I know its not the money for him but why wont he show loyalty to the team and manager who kept faith in the boy who was at the time playing brutal.
Peoples taughts on an Arsenal legend who is stalling.
    Is he leaving?

Maybe he wants a new challenge and to ply his trade in the Spanish league.

If Arsenal win the Champions League and show him that they will be investing in the team consistantly this summer and the next few years then they've done everything they can. After that it's a question of whether Henry feels like leaving or not.

I think that if he leaves most of it stems from Arsenal selling Viera and then not replacing him adequately at the time (even if Viera was and is in decline).

Hes there 7 years, i think hes quite entitled to leave and leave on good terms, no fan should castigate a player who is the top scorer ever and has entertained them for that long.

I think he should go to barca for himself as a footballer its his chance to be a complete legend in Europe and not just London. Win or Lose next wednesday night he has a better chance of being back there with Barca then with Arsenal.

If he wins next wednesday he will have Cl medal, A WC and Euro medal, couple of PL medals Fa cup medals and some french medals and next season La Liga :D

To be fair to him hes hardly being unloyal the club if he leaves at this stage of his career.

I`d be very surprised if hes still a Gooner next season.

I cannot see past him leaving and I think it will be best for Arsenal. If he was to stay it would be damaging to Arsenal next season I fear. He is a good player but now is the perfect time to go. There is too much dependance and stigma building around him and it detracts from the rest of the team.

So, he's definately out the door.

    (Please don't berate me...:o)

I agree with people he has given so much to the club and has been a joy to watch. I honestly cant see him staying but is barca the best move for him. Are the young players coming through good enough to score goals week in week out. Van persie is good but still needs time, Reyes is an amazing player and next season is going to be the start of something great for him. Theo Walcot, i have never seen him play. What do people think.

are you being serious here mate? Henry is definitely one of the top 5 players in the world (2nd if not pushing for 1st)...i can't understand how him leaving will be good for Arsenal, they wont get that much for him as he has just 1 year left...losing your top scorer and best performer for the last few seasons is not a good thing IMO!

he's holding arsenal together atm. would be great to see him leave from a utd/chelsea/liverpool point of view.

he's not as gifted as ronaldinho and cares too much about his ego, plus he has a temper and tends to go missing in big matches.

put it this way, if i'd money to put on henry or ronaldinho getting motm in the final, i'd pick ronaldinho. i fear arsenal could be crushed if barca turn on the style. i can't see arsenal going all out attack, even though wenger will say they will. they'll be looking to keep it tight and frustrate barca.

At this point I don't think Henry owes Arsenal or Wenger anything and should do whatever he feels is right for himself.

    I disagree,
Firstly they play nearly the same football, in that its quick passing and a fast game. As for the style part of the game its too close to call. Arsenal and Barcelona are the best teams in the world to watch playing. They are exciting and inventive.
Henry, yes i agree has an ego but (no offence) he is french. I have yet to meet a french man who hasnt got an ego. They are passionate, which in henry can be mistaken for a temper. Henry is faster then Ronaldino by far and is always wanting in the game. Ronaldino this season has been napping at times in games. They both have an eye for goal. They never score an ordinary goal.
Another thing Barcelona dont get frustrated.

Ronaldinho doesn't seem to be doing much to stop the rumours or else he knows something we don't. "Henry could be here next season", "If he is I'd be the happiest as he's a good friend and a great player". That's what I remember from his interview on ITV last night.

Not many bigger ones mate especially with their new stadium. I don't think he has made his mind up yet and thats why he hasn't said he's staying.

Real and Barcelona obviously want him but hey what club doesn't, the only thing is, will he be get his place every week at Real or Barcelona?

A player of his ability wants to play every week and we know that he can do at Arsenal.

    i think he will leave!

there's all these stories about henry oweing arsenal for rescuing hin from Juve and the fans for thier support etc. but has he not paid them back already?surely he owe's nothing anymore?

7 great seasons, has helped arsenal to trophies and helped make them into the success thy are! he has become the top goalscorer ever for them and has given the supporters hours of wonderful football and has conjoured some of the finest skill and goals a player can!

i think he will move on from arsenal for a new challenge! he has given his all for the club over the last 7 seasons so the supporters shouldnt see him as turning his back on the club! this happens in football!

Agreed, the best striker in the world for the last 3 seasons or so, IMO.

Altho, slightly off-topic, does anyone know what the standings are in the race for the European Golden Boot? I think every national league except Serie A is done, and the last I heard (admittedly a long time ago) was that Fiorentina's Toni was leading the table. Anyone got any info on this?

Alright go put money on it. You don't fear Arsenal getting crushed at all, you'd love it albeit that will not happen. It's a final, form goes out the window and anyone can win; and I'm backing Arsenal to win it.

Go study for your leaving cert.

ok, take it easy there batman. so i think raul & henry are over-rated - shoot me.

i dont like henry when he loses, he's one of the worst losers in the game. he's a fantastic footballer, a wizard, a genius. he scores & creates goals, nice goals.

is he one of the best in the world - yes. but he's not THE best. ronaldinho plays with a smile and loses with a smile. henry plays with arrogance and loses by attacking the referee and his team of officials.

Which one was sent off late in a game that was lost for lack of temprement?

Henry is class no matter who you support.

Can Ronaldinho speak english? He can speak portuguese, french, catalan and spanish already, so wouldn't surprise me.

No ones getting angry, Kent. He's classed as one of the best in the world, you agree to this yet you say he's over-rated? That makes no sense, and where did Raul come out of?

Right, Henry attacks the ref and linemen after he loses a game. If so, why has Henry not been charged by the FA of we have not heard of any speculation into such incidents. Chlesea will not be pleased as they, on the other hand have been charged.

Also, if I'm not mistaken, was it not Ronaldinho sent off for not listening to the ref and then trying to kick the ball out of a keeper's hands? Seems that Ronaldinho thinks he's above the law and can ignore 'the referee and his team of officials.'

(I am not trying to convery Ronaldinho as the bad guy but merely state a point)

yes, i think he's over-rated yet a class act, it's possible. a year or so ago i had a big debate about raul and said basically HE was over-rated, i still stand by that point.

im not van nistelrooy's biggest fan either and was happy and indeed wanted ruud to be dropped, way before the league cup final, just to prove im not just biased towards utd.

attitude is important, i think henry has a poor attitude. re-taken free kick that he scored a classic henry moment, looked at the ref and basically said, ' yeah, take that u muppet, want me to take it again and score?'. he couldnt just walk away and celebrate, he had to get a dig in at the ref.

also, he onlt tracks back and gets tackles in when he feels he's been hard done by (a bit like ronaldo at utd), showing he's inclined to play for himself and get self-satisfaction rather than play for the team and do it all the time.
