Nissan Primera 02 Trade-in Value

Hi,

Went to trade in my 02 Nissan Primera 1.8 hi spec model (17" alloys\rear camera etc) yesterday, time to upgrade and the wife wants an NEW MPV for the kids. Was shocked to be only offered €8.5k.

Is this correct and is my Nissan Primera scarp

I'm afraid Nissan resale values are not great and the Primera is a very heavy depreciator especially the 1.8 litre.

Saying that I think it is worth more than €8.5k. I think you should be getting around €10k for it depending on what you are trading it against and it's condition.

Did you try only one garage? You could try selling it privately and should get a bit more for it. Go back to the garage and get a cash discount off the MPV.

Yes only went to one garage so far and was a bit taken a back. Was expecting around €10k. Will try to get to some more garages over the weekend and see what they offer.

Or try and sell it private.
The primera is a good car indeed, but has never taken off in the way the Avensis and Passat have and thus are not as sought after by used buyers.
Its no reflection on the cars ability, more to dowith its percieved image.

Same applies to the Almera.
