    It's a nonsense that they move from Strasbourg to Brussels and back again. A waste of money. Stay in one place.

    So Belgium gets to "own" the whole European instutition? The parliament and the executive?

    Why not create some separate administrative state for the whole stupid lot or something?

    It's not just about efficiency/cost-cutting issues. Any anyway, our governments decentralising our civil service.

    From what Ive read....Belgium is barely a state as it is and there is a very good chance that in the next 20 or so years that it will break into two parts...one joining France and the other joining the Netherlands.

    It has been discussed to then make Brussels the de facto federal capital of the EU, which makes perfect sense to me...similar to Washington DC.

    Honestly it would be the best option!

    Then how will the French be able to make jokes about Belgians, if there will be no more Belgians?
